In terms of functionality, operation and design, it sets new standards and makes refuelling and defuelling safer, cleaner and more convenient than ever before. The EL-FuelStation is designed for all common tank types and all standard fuels – from conventional tanks with overflow lines to bladder tanks.
Regardless of the tank system used, the focus is always on controlled, reproducible and operationally reliable refuelling.

For bladder tanks, the EL-FuelStation takes a decisive step further:
with SmartFill, a specially developed refuelling mode that enables fully automatic, reproducible, bubble-free filling.
SmartFill:
the new standard for bladder tanks

Bubble-free. Reproducible. Fully automatic.
SmartFill is a newly developed, sensor-based refuelling mode for pressure-resistant bladder tanks. It enables a fully automatic, reproducible and bubble-free refuelling process – regardless of the current fill level.
Unlike conventional automatic refuelling functions, SmartFill does not simply detect when a tank is full – it ensures that the tank is filled correctly.
The challenge with bladder tanks
  • No venting – air remains trapped inside the tank
  • “Full” is neither visible nor clearly measurable
  • Manual adjustment is unsafe and inconsistent
  • Overfilling puts unnecessary stress on the bladder and fuel lines
Result:
Refuelling processes are often inconsistent, not reproducible and potentially harmful.
The solution: SmartFill
SmartFill is not simply a shut-off when the tank appears full. It is a controlled refuelling process that actively removes air and brings the tank into a defined final state. (air-free, pressure-relieved and completely filled - every time ! )

The SmartFill process in 4 phases
1. Start
Controlled filling until the predefined pressure or volume limit is reached.
2. Venting
A defined reverse flow actively removes trapped air from the bladder tank.
3. Final filling
The tank is filled again — now without air — up to the optimal fill level.
4. Pressure relief
Controlled pressure release ensures the bladder is filled without mechanical stress.
 

Result: A bubble-free bladder tank — identical results every time.

Safety notice
SmartFill must only be used with bladder tanks that are rated by the manufacturer for at least 100 mbar overpressure. For other tank systems, alternative refuelling modes of the EL-FuelStation are available.

EL-FuelStation with FuelSwitch:
FuelSwitch is an optional overflow sensor for tank systems equipped with an overflow line. It is mounted directly on the model’s tank overflow and connected to the EL-FuelStation via the MR30 interface.



Dual safety during refuelling
  • Precise volume measurement via the integrated fuel sensor
  • Additional shut-off via the FuelSwitch at the overflow
  • Automatic emptying of the overflow line



During the refuelling process, the EL-FuelStation monitors not only the overflow condition but also the exact fuel volume, which is individually stored in the model memory.

The refuelling process is stopped automatically as soon as
one of the following conditions is met:
  • the predefined tank volume stored in the model memory is reached
  • or the FuelSwitch detects fuel in the overflow line

After shut-off, the pump direction is briefly reversed to empty the overflow line.
This prevents fuel from leaking from the overflow line or dripping onto the model or the grass.

This interaction between precise volume measurement and overflow sensor monitoring provides a maximum level of comfort and safety – independent of tank shape, installation position or current fill level.
Greater convenience and safety when refuelling overflow tanks is hard to achieve.

The complete refuelling system for demanding applications
The EL-FuelCan 20 was developed as the ideal complement to the EL-FuelStation, specifically designed for use with model turbine fuel. With a total volume of 22.5 litres, it is perfectly matched to the common mixture of 20 litres of fuel and 1 litre of oil.

Diffusion-tight by design
The EL-FuelCan 20 is diffusion-tight, meaning that no components of the fuel can escape. This prevents fuel odor, stops moisture from being absorbed and keeps the fuel fresh for a significantly longer time.

Thought through in every detail
Despite its 20-litre capacity, the FuelCan remains easy to carry even when fully filled. Thanks to the variable hose routing, it can be handled comfortably by both right- and left-handed users.

Two separate internal connections are provided for refuelling and defuelling:
  • Lower connection: refuelling
  • Upper connection: defuelling
Which line is active is controlled automatically by integrated check valves.

The EL-FuelStation is connected via the
shut-off valve with a 6 mm hose connection.

Maximum flow – without air bubbles
For reliable, bubble-free fuel delivery, the can is equipped with two filter pickups. The suction line is consistently designed with an 8 mm diameter.This ensures that the high pumping capacity of the EL-FuelStation of up to 1 litre per minute can be fully utilized in practice, without cavitation.

One system – ready to use
The EL-FuelStation is mounted directly to the fuel can using the mounting plate and 4 mm screws. Once the fuel station is connected to the FuelCan, the system is immediately ready for operation.

Connect the EL-Fuel-Station...
There are two 6mm hose connections on the bottom and an XT60 connector for the battery on the back. On the side of the housing there is an MR30 socket for connecting the FuelSwitch.
Easy handling...
The filling station is operated using a button and a rotary knob.
The button is used to switch the filling station on and off. If the button is held down for longer than 3 seconds, the pump starts backwards.
The LED in the button flashes as soon as the filling station is in standby mode. Pressing the button ends standby mode again. The power consumption in standby is so low that the battery can remain plugged in all day.
Settings for the filling station are carried out using the rotary knob. Pressing the rotary knob starts the setup; pressing it again ends the setup. By turning it, the setting values in the setup are changed
The sensory...
The EL-Fuel-Station is equipped with high-quality sensors that guarantee safe and easy operation.
Air bubbles in the hose are detected and the speed of the pump is automatically adjusted to reduce the formation of bubbles.
When defueling, it is automatically recognized when the tank is empty and the EL-Fuel-Station switches off. An empty storage canister is also detected and the EL-Fuel-Station switches off.
The built-in fuel sensor records the amount of fuel currently being pumped and shows it on the large display. Refueling stops automatically when the specified amount of fuel has been filled. When the tank is almost full (90%), the rest is filled with lower pump performance to reduce foam in the tank.
The information display...
The 3" backlit display shows the current status of the refueling process and is used to make the settings for the EL-Fuel-Station.
The contents of the fuel canister are shown on the left edge of the display. The graphic on the right edge of the display shows the contents of the tank in the model.
Other displays include battery voltage and pump performance.
Four operating modes...
The EL-Fuel-Stationis suitable for filling and defueling all common tank systems with the usual fuels.
The device has Four different methods for filling the tanks.
Which mode is used is defined in the model memory.
SmartFill (from V5)
This mode was developed specifically for pressure-resistant bag tanks. In addition to the tank size set in the model memory, the tank pressure is also the determining factor for the refueling process. Refueling in this mode is fully automatic in four phases (start, vent, fill, and depressurize). It doesn't matter whether the tank is partially full, empty, or still contains some air. Smart, in other words ;-)
The refueling process can be aborted at any time using the Stop button.
Automatically...
This mode is particularly suitable for tanks that can be completely emptied via the tank connection (bag tanks are a good example here). The tank size set in the model memory is the decisive factor for the refueling process in this mode. If the tank is set to 1000ml, exactly this amount of fuel is poured into the tank and the refueling process is stopped. Since there may still be residual amounts of fuel in the tank, they are first completely emptied and pumped back into the storage canister.
Auto mode is started by pressing the start button. A manual stop is not necessary as the refueling process is stopped automatically.
The refueling process can be canceled at any time using the stop button.
Manually...
In this mode, refueling is started simply by pressing the start button. The pump runs with the performance specified in the model memory. In order to avoid foaming of the fuel in the tank, it may make sense to reduce the pump power in the setup. The progress of the refueling process is shown on the display of the EL-Fuel-Station. The refueling process is ended by pressing the stop button again. The EL-Fuel-Station stops automatically at the latest when the amount of fuel delivered has reached the set volume. To defuel, press the start button for 3 seconds. held down. The pump then starts in the opposite direction with reduced performance.
FuelSwitch... (optional accessory)
In this mode, an overflow sensor is installed in the model and signals when the tank is full. The overflow sensor is connected to the EL-Fuel-Station using the MR30 socket, which is located on the side of the display. Refueling with the FuelSwitch begins by pressing the start button. Refueling ends when the FuelSwitch reports the overflow, after which the pumping direction is briefly reversed to empty the overflow again.
If there is no signal from the FuelSwitch, the refueling process stops when the amount of fuel delivered has reached the set volume. The refueling process can be canceled using the stop button.

This telemetry sensor (for PowerBox P²BUS and Jeti EX-BUS) measures the fuel flow from the tank to the engine or to the turbine and can therefore reliably display the tank level.
Due to the measuring range, the sensor is suitable for combustion engines from approx. 100ccm and turbines up to approx. 200N thrust. The sensor can be automatically set to "full" after refueling via the FuelSwitch (patch cable included).
